By-Laws
The by-laws are being written in the forums with input from the Council of 100.
They will be posted here in final draft but to see them in process please visit the forums.
The Council of 100 is based on a few simple principles. If you can agree to these simple ideas then you should agree with me that this plan is not only valid but is exactly what a lot of people need right now.
#1. The
Economy sucks!
Face it, it’s tough out there. I have been out of work
for almost a year myself. I do have a few fairs booked and that
lets me squeak by but many of you are feeling it as bad as I am
right now or worse. People have lost billions in retirement
packages that were stock based. People are going upside down on
mortgages in houses that just 2 years ago were worth 3 times as
much. Land prices are the lowest they have been in over 25
years. Which brings us to the next concept.
#2. Now
is the time
Sure it is. For many reasons, interest rates are at a
14-year low, land prices can’t get much better. But with this
tough economy who has money to buy land? Especially us normal
working schmoes who have spent their lives making other people
rich!
#3. 100
people is not a lot of people.
There
are more than 100 people at the processional of a small fair.
100 people could fit in 2 tour buses with leftover seats. I'll
talk to over 500 people easily on a normal fair day. 100 people
is not a lot of people at all.
#4.
$1000 is not that much money.
These 4 concepts melded together with my particular skill-set
and we can build a Renaissance themed public/ private campground
with a village and enough RV spots and building space for
everyone to have a lot for life!
100
people “The Council of 100” invest $1000 each.
That
puts the opening fund of the Company at,
One Hundred Thousand Dollars.
The plan is detailed in this website but the long and short of
it is we get an $80k piece of land, 10 to 20 acres, right off the
interstate, build a shower house and clear out some camping
spots first. Then we lay out roads for the village, run water
and power lines along the roads and everyone gets a spot to call
their own. The company account buys the land and pays for the
roads and infrastructure. The monthly operating costs, including
the mortgage, divided between 100 people, should be well under
$20 a month each.
So until the land is paid off (we pay half down) we all have to pay $20 a month to keep our village open. You can't rent an RV parking spot for that but here you would be entitled to a year round open space for you to park in with water and electric, FOREVER! Because you OWN your lot.
For joining the Council of 100 by buying in for $1000 you get 1 share in the business, 1 vote on the council and 1 piece of land on the Council property. Everyone is an equal in the council business.
If you've ever wanted to live in a renaissance village or just need a place to park your tent between Ca. shows or are thinking about a place to retire to, this is the best possible way for regular people like us to get together enough funds to make a project like this happen and own a piece of something great!
